Introduction
Acer continues to make appealing and great value machines. The company has also masterminded the 21-inch Predator 21 X, the biggest laptop ever which features a curved display and mechanical keyboard - not to mention, Tobii eye tracking.
Acer's Strengths
- Value for money: Acer enables a multitude of features - 1080p screens and aluminium designs for under £300!
- Look & Feel: Acer laptops are built solid, period! They are constructed with great craftsmanship but with an air of something more subtle. The company's gaming rigs also impress!
Acer's Weaknesses
- Inconsistent Support: Acer's support once considered the envy of the industry, has of late been slipping with agents lacking even basic knowledge.
- Shipping Costs: Acer simply don't pay the cost shipping to their premises even if you are under warranty.
Conclusion
Acer excels in value for money. In particular the Acer 15 which ships with an awesome display and core i3 CPU but only costs circa £300. Whilst their gaming range isn't too bad either with the Acer V17 Nitro Black Edition which mixes style and substance with strong gaming credentials. As does the Predator Triton 700 which is impressively thin with a Max-Q graphics card. PS. Don't miss the Predator 21 X with its curved screen and awesome graphics card, but do bear in mind the hefty £8k price tag!
