USB-C is a 24 pin USB connection that is marked by its ability to provide a 2-fold rotation/symmetrical connector. A device that is compatible with USB-C will not necessarily be compatible with USB 3.1, general USB Power Delivery or Alternate modes of charging.
Some devices including: Smartphones, tablets and laptops can be powered via USB connections.
