How to check device compatibility
Laptops and Chromebooks have a wide range of charging tips. Some brands have multiple tips for different product ranges under the same brand. In short, no single universal charger product can possibly be compatible with all devices available on the market.
This page walks you through the process of checking compatibility before you buy a universal notebook charger, from us or elsewhere.
Apple has had multiple chargers over the years. We only stock genuine Apple USB-C chargers, the 30W and 96W models.
We supply a Surface compatible charging cable and charger that delivers up to 65W.
The variation for PC and Chromebook chargers is huge. Luckily, the process to check compatibility is straightforward:
- Does your device use USB-C for charging? Many models, especially newer devices, use USB-C for power. You'll need this USB-C charger.
- If it's not USB-C, search for your model name appending "charger tip". For example, if your laptop is ACME XYZ-123, search on Google for "ACME XYZ-123 charger tip".
- Find your manufacturer's help page about this product, and look for the tip dimensions. Find the equivalent tip in the compatibility table for the universal charger we stock. If you can't find the right tip, then the chargers we stock would not support your device.
